Keep Your Window Tint Looking Great This Summer

Window tinting is something that has become more and popular in recent years for everything from cars to home windows to commercial buildings.

Whether you get your windows tinted for reasons of privacy or simply reasons of style and aesthetic, the one thing that doesn’t change is the fact that you will want to keep them as clean and pristine as possible!

Here at Solarmaster Window Film, we specialise in providing high-quality window tinting in Brisbane, and we also like to make sure that our customers know as much as they can about how to maintain their tint after installation.

Here are some top tips for how to keep your tinted windows looking spotless!

Wash Your Window Film Regularly

The first and best hint for maintaining tinted windows is really simple, just plain old soap and warm water!

There might be a lot of different promise-all products on store shelves that claim to give your glass the best shine ever, but at the end of the day there is nothing better than gentle soap and warm water to bring up the shine of a tinted window.

Avoid Abrasive Cleaning Products

The reason for this is that some of those most ‘specialised’ products can contain a lot of abrasive ingredients, and when you are dealing with a window that has a tint film on it, these ingredients can sometimes have a negative impact on the smooth nature of the film.

You don’t want to have to prematurely replace anything, so it is always best to stick to general household soap.

Along with soap and water, you should also be using the softest cloth that you can find at home. With repeated scrubbing, you would be surprised how something you don’t think is harmful can start to make scrub marks over time.

Too much abrasion will eventually break the film. We all know not to be using something like steel wool, but make sure that you pay extra attention on selecting the softest possible washcloth that you can.
